The Google code of conduct emphasizes on the point “ Don’t be evil”. It also focuses on seven other main points which are serve users, respect each others, avoid conflicts of interest, preserve confidentiality, protect Google’s assets, ensure financial responsibility, and obey the law. Each one of these points is broken down into many more sub points that further describe what it expected of the employees. These rules make it so Google is able to serve its customers and users as well as the company itself at the same time. I believe that all people should follow a code of ethics, modern society seems to have no moral code or ethics anymore. I would have no problem following this code of ethics if I worked for Google. I believe that any professional in any field would not disagree with this code of conduct. I also feel that this code could be used in many different industries. Some companies may even add more rules of conduct, such as government officials such as teachers and police officers. I feel that any companies that does not have a code of conduct for their employees will soon fail or attract undesirable employees. A code of conduct lets employees know what is expected of them and what will not be tolerated.
